My French Chinese identity inspired this piece. A 龙 or Chinese dragon and mythic creature, wraps around the Parisian building, showing how the cultures collide. While living in Paris, I always cross the Place des Victoires, where the equestrian statue stands on the right. The area although now bustling with shoppers was created to commemorate a treaty that allowed peace between nations and was built in the 1680s. The cultures collide within myself and create internal conflicts, through the history, myths and legends of the East and the West.
